I Could Be Somebody /// Dionne Sturdy-Clow

Dionne Sturdy-Clow goes on to say on her Facebook page… “I also like big guitars and formally vodka …… but now my heart belongs to whiskey.”

The wispy starlet has a rough cadence and the swagger of an aged rockstar. She has a whip-smart personality with music reminiscent of Joan Jett and the Pretenders, a raucous sound that delivers that pounding feverish chill.

“I Could Be Somebody” has a premonitory sensibility to its lyrics and we wonder when not if Dionne Sturdy-Clow will be barefooted on stage with a sneer and gait that topples the world. The truly wild thing is Dionne Sturdy-Clow is only nineteen years old, a fresh face in the stratosphere.

“I Could Be Somebody” is a song of optimism, a youthful anthem. A song without much rancor surprisingly for the young yet it is driving and filled with precision. A wiry sound of guitars desecrates “I Could Be Somebody” like a sure sweet kiss hello leaving us wondering what could be next of Dionne Sturdy-Clow.

Sometimes, we think of heavy excess drinking perhaps because of the luxury it brings us. Dionne Sturdy-Clow brightly sings of all those crooked years of hard living and the luminous years ahead. Add a daze of memorable fast guitar licks to the twisting of fate lyrics, and you get a windfall of turmoil that still happens to feel like paradise going through the motions- however, waking up is another story.
