((((((SAILIN)))))) /// Jack Goldstein

If there were ever a musical manifestation of pure, unbridled joy, then “((((((SAILIN))))))” by singer-songwriter Jack Goldstein has found that special sauce. Arriving in perfect time for the dawn of the summer season, this track is a buoyant romp that radiates good vibes. However, there’s no mistaking this song for another canned, summertime formula. Instead, Goldstein tweaked the typical, happy go lucky brand of amber afterglow with his own wild, melodic machinations.

Instead of a placid, seaside melody, Goldstein shoves off for open waters into the crashing breakers of electronic-laden rock. There’s no easing into this one. You’re thrown into the deep end and proceed to be pummeled by rounds of heavy bass and choppy drums. It is easier to accept that you are along for the ride than fighting the swells that Goldstein offers up. In the end, it is a raucous and exhilarating voyage.

Before all of the waves roll in, we’re greeted with a simple directive: “sailing out among the stars.” It is a peacefully nomadic setting sail that leaves you with nothing but your wits and nature to guide you. On top of this, a joyous, exultation about love is set forth: “when the moon goes down and the sun comes up, we’re going to let love into the soul again.” Unabashed to the core, this song lets the universe know that the heart is open for business.

With his next album, “The World Is Ending And I Love U,” set to be released June 24, Goldstein has served up an appetizing, carefree romp that flies in the face of stormy weather. Instead of unfurling an umbrella, you will unpack a new sense of optimism. “((((((SAILIN))))))” is a ray of sunshine that peers its way from behind the darkest of rain clouds.
