‘dream of me’ is a piano ballad delivered with chilling melancholy emotion. It mainly utilizes soft piano, simple percussion, and speckles of bass in the instrumentation. However, what really stands out are the vocals, which are drawn out and filled with even more life when placed alongside the backing vocals and harmonies. The lyrics paint a poignant post-breakup story. They share a yearning for a former lover when by the end things seem near unrequited. It asks “Do you still dream of me?”
