Today, 03/21/2025, Adrien Latgé released his brand new single ‘Fresh Air,’ here’s a bit of a delve into that single and four more recent tracks along that same vibe!
Adrien Latgé – Fresh Air
‘Fresh Air’ is the perfect indie mesh of acoustic and electronic sounds with a moderate tempo and a bright beauty. This track has folk influence, especially in the soft rasp of the vocals, and the instrumentation flows and builds with a catchy bounce. The lyrics explore a personal struggle and a need to save one’s own self. Further, they get into a tale of working toward self-care.
Gillian Krystal – Colorblind
‘Colorblind’ keeps the moderate tempo flowing, and like in the last track, it has a soft rasp in the vocal flow and a folk-influenced indie sound. The mix and production in this track are well-crafted, allowing each part of the instrumentation to shine through. Additionally, the chorus is a really catchy hook. This single was written about ignoring red flags when falling in love. It tells a story of getting close to someone despite knowing things won’t end well.
Sadie Jean – Nice Knowing You
‘Nice Knowing You,’ tones things back, working mainly with simple acoustic guitar and soft melancholic vocals. The sound grows with the inclusion of piano, and then bass and percussion are introduced. This track does great at adding more sounds but keeping an underlying softness. This track captures the end of a relationship, and the main hook follows the title as it explores the feeling of a beautiful relationship withering.
ExDrummer – Topsoil
‘Topsoil’ has a jazzy piano instrumentation, captivating harmonies, and pop-punk undertones. This track does well at giving the percussion some spotlight when it enters without making it overwhelming. The vocals work with some long-held notes, and every bit of their delivery is smooth and strong. This track explores the essence of change, and seems to hint that part of that change is a relationship where both parties are starting to fall into change in different directions.
Chloe Clouds – Iris
This Goo Goo Dolls “Iris” tones things back and works with acoustic string-based beauty and a brassy full vocal sound. The way this cover changes the track freshens it up into a unique and new sound. The buzzy acoustics build well into the vocals for a full sound, and the soft breathiness in the vocals is chilling. Overall, it puts a stripped-down spin onto things which shifts the way that emotion is delivered throughout the track.
