proppaganda – Nomacita (Miss Monique, Genesi, and Carl Bee Remix)
This remix of ‘Nomacita’ does what proppaganda does best: taking a track and turning it to eleven. The sonics here are stellar, there’s a rapid pace overall, and the pickups in energy are the perfect boost. Seemingly, every drop takes that notch and keeps it back up. The drop at 02:10 is absolutely astounding as it throws in a bass rush with a quick snare sound filling the off-beats with life. If you need a track to take your party up a notch, this is exactly where to go!
My Evil Robot Army – Sunnyside
‘My Evil Robot Army’ is a laid-back lo-fi beat with such a smoothness to it. It has an 80s sound and nu-jazz influences, and there’s something about the sound that builds a sense of inquisitiveness and introspection. The chimes give a nice starriness to the sound. The bass in this track gives it the perfect bounce to hold listeners in its dreamy sound. This track is one to chill out to, vibe to, or even think to.
Dr. GO – Behind the Moon
The operatic vocal intro of ‘Behind the Moon’ does great at pulling whoever’s listening into the epic sound that transpires after. This is a track that isn’t rushed but somehow finds its way to be full of life. It somehow takes some classic influences and dashes them in with futuristic sounding synths. This builds into a sound like that of an expedition in outer space. This is perfect for the artist, who is currently crafting a set for the Bochum Planetarium on June 6th, 2025!
Reid Schoenfelder – What Really Works
What really works about ‘What Really Works’ is its raw production style and lyrical narrative. But it’s so much more than that. The way it’s produced gives it a nostalgic sound, but its melody brings a pop harmony with catchy tones. Additionally, in a lot of songs that sound like they have a raw production, the vocals are hard to hear. This track doesn’t do that. It fits the vocals in the right space for a lot of clarity. To put the lyrics simply, they’re about the need to pack up and go somewhere else because current life isn’t quite working. This is the least synthy of the tracks on this list, but it uses synths to add atmosphere!
