This world is filled with a lot of emotional music, and sadness isn’t the only emotion to be shared. Check out these 4 tracks, each with narratives that delve into confidence, love, and connections. If you need a pick-me-up, you’ve come to the right place!

Alessiah – hot like this

‘Hot like this’ delivers amazing pop energy with an infectious bounce and a flow to vibe to. The vocals hit a tone that’s both soft and powerful, and the dynamic synthy instrumentation provides a diverse listening experience. Additionally, the vocals do well at playing with both rhythm and melody to deliver an ethereal sound. Lyrically, it stands out with a confident and empowering energy. That being said, it does so with a lens of former heartbreak and builds into a narrative of coming out onto the other side stronger.

TragicXO – Me and You

‘Me and You’ is a sweet love track with a lo-fi production style and emo-sounding vocals. It works with a moderate pace and electric guitars, bass, and soft percussion in the background. In general, it sounds like an upbeat, fresh take on the pop-punk genre. The guitars have a nice bounce to them, and though the vocals have a vague mumble, they’re still delivered with clarity. The main voice is expressing to another that it’s okay for them to have struggles because they’ll be able to take care of things together.

ALXS – Jackie-O

‘Jackie-O’ is a bass-heavy rock-inspired pop track with a confident edge to things. The instrumentation mainly plays with bass for its melody, but the unique percussion that builds around it gives it a quick pace. The vocals are a bit whispery, but they still have a punchiness in their rhythmic flow. The dynamics here are great, as the track has a distinct flow to get into. Lyrically, this track is about taking control of one’s own life and image as a woman. It basically says, “I’ll get what I want when I want it.”

Louis Peschke – This Life

‘This Life’ is a gorgeously produced folk-pop track with a gorgeous melody and a warm buzz in its acoustics. The guitar takes the forefront of the instrumentation, and the bass and percussion work well together to control the pacing and rhythm. This track takes on a heartfelt pacing that allows the vocals to deliver their narrative well.  This track gets into the difficulties of life, but it offers a hand to another. The main narrator says, “I promise I’ll be there for you,” to the main subject of the track in a catchy, repetitive hook.
