Can’t Imagine /// Jack Kaune

Suffice it to say, moving on is not an easy task. Try as you might, who you’re hung up on lingers over you, without fail. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Singer-songwriter Jack Kaune’s new single, “Can’t Imagine,” is a plucky, acoustic-laden ballad about peacefully letting someone go from your life. More so, it’s about seeing someone with clear eyes and indirectly calling out their faults in the process.

Simply put, “Can’t Imagine” is as easygoing of a sound as it gets. So much so, that it mirrors the chill side of the narrative to a tee. It creates an air of contentment, reflecting the idea of finding enough peace within yourself to finally move on from someone. Altogether, “Can’t Imagine” is the antithesis of an angsty anthem, flipping the script with a smooth source of catharsis.

The crux of the matter of “Can’t Imagine” is the feeling of being left in the lurch. However, it turns into finding your way forward without them. It’s very much a no sweat on my brow, nor a load on my mind type of approach to them. It’s about arriving at a place where you accept them for who they are, especially their lesser qualities. Altogether, “Can’t Imagine” is about discarding a past that is no longer worth dwelling in.

All in all, “Can’t Imagine” embodies a zen-like reset to letting someone out of your life. It’s not about venting a series of sharp-tongued barbs to make yourself feel better. Altogether, “Can’t Imagine” is about letting go in the most passive, but relaxing way possible.
