Drawing from a lifetime of experience and passion for music, East Coast-based classic rock outfit, Geoff Abraham Band, has burst onto the scene with a sound that encapsulates the nostalgic, while creating an experience all of its own. Fortified by the presence and tenure of their frontman and namesake, the project has wasted no time in creating its own unique style and sound as they present themselves to the world at large. Their debut single “When Love Is At The Root” proves to make great strides in establishing their identity as it blends classic structural themes with modern sensibilities and demonstrates their creative proclivities undeniably.
A percussive clash begins the piece as an electric guitar and bass play in rhythmic tandem, and we immediately feel ourselves slipping into the immersive world of the music. From the opening seconds, we feel an energy from this anthem that fills us with adrenaline, while captivating us with its melodic flow. With a resonant and projective tambour, Abraham’s vocals appear and begin the narrative of the tune as he belts out the opening line, “We said things we’re going to regret, we let it all go to our heads. I know you’re hurting, well I’m hurting too, some things we said that just ain’t true.”
Characterized by their memorable hooks and hypnotic musicality, the single succeeds at creating a snappy and unforgettable earworm that is sure to stay with the listener in their mind. Having defined the heart of this project so well from their early release, fans can only wait with anticipation to see what could possibly be coming next from these artists’ studio.
