Spreading joy to countless fans across the globe, Ralph “Champagne” Revue, founding member of the legendary San Francisco punk band, The Dwarves, boldly forges forward with the next chapter of their creative journey with their latest head-turning record, as he debuts his latest solo collection, The Grinch Mini LP, with a comforting and heartwarming twist for all to hear.
The titular track, an extended version of the staple in holiday music, “Mr. Grinch” showcases Revue’s mastery of musicality, as deep and resonant harmonies underscore the emotionality of the track, giving the piece a full and well rounded feeling that finds the happy medium between downright nostalgic and a novel twist on something that surely has a space deep in all of our hearts.
Giving us all a reminder of his prolific accomplishments as an artist, Revue’s inclusion of a remastered version of his 2005 single with The Dwarves, “Drinking Up Christmas” proves an undeniable example of his commitment to this album’s production values. Not only does the track showcase a loftier, jazz-inspired, and more family-friendly sensibility, it draws on the artist’s tenured rolodex of friends they have made throughout the years, featuring vocal contributions from legendary punk singer Dexter Holland, famously known as the frontman of Los Angeles powerhouse The Offspring.
