Darcy Fox just released her brand new EP ‘Storm Warning’ today, March 6, 2026. To celebrate, Popfad has curated it alongside Zara Haines’s new single ‘Say Less’ and 3 other fresh releases.
Darcy Fox – Storm Warning
‘Storm Warning’ has folk-pop vibes mixed with a raw production style that gives some great emotion. The opening guitar riff is super beautiful and keeps the flow moving well, and then the introduction of percussion and portions of synths fill out the piece gorgeously. The mix is great at placing the different instrumentation into different portions of the stereo in a way that truly brings the piece to life. Then, there are the vocals. They have a bright buzziness to them and break into soft and strong moments. The delivery is truly emotional, and the harmonies that cut in at moments bring things to life even more. Keeping the vocals at the forefront does well at delivering the story of the track. When it comes to the lyrics, ‘Storm Warning’ captures a tale of finding love even through emotional turbulence. It’s poetic, and it gives a sense of worrying about one’s own mental impact on a relationship, but finding solace instead.
Zara Haines – Say Less
‘Say Less’ brings up the energy with its bass-driven synthy instrumentation, trap drums, and energetic vocals. The percussive beat carries a great energy, though it plays well with evolving from section to section to keep things evolving as it moves forward. Rhythmically, this track is interesting from start to finish with its dynamic flow. Though the percussion takes the forefront, the vocals also have a rhythmic nature. That being said, they don’t sacrifice melody for the sake of the rhythm. Lyrically, this track is about getting wrapped up in toxicity in terms of a relationship. It relates a partner to being a bad habit that comes with its own set of problems. This is a shorter release, but that snappiness gives it a lot of replayability.
Cash O’Brien – Out on a Limb
‘Out on a Limb’ is an indie pop track that gets something right that many other indie releases don’t. It has a washed out nature to it, but it’s still produced in a way in which everything remains crisp. There’s a melancholic nature that resounds through the piece, and the use of instrumental reverb seems meant to pull listeners into its atmospheric vibe. The vocals in this track are super smooth as they bend and flow around, and the mix allows them to shine while still giving some focus onto the instrumentation. Lyrically, this track seems to be about the end of a relationship. The main voice of the track wants to be let down softly before it’s too late to reduce any more hurt.
Olivia Frances – This is Me Growing Up
‘This is Me Growing Up’ has a focus on storytelling with a raw folk sound. The overarching track has a warm buzz to it, which extends through both the vocals and the and acoustic guitar. It slowly builds into higher energy portions, with some soft percussion and multiple guitar layers. Though it’s mostly acoustic, it adds some flair with some electric guitar. This track has a lot of beauty, and there are bird sfx in the beginning that give it an even more natural vibe. The lyrics in this release get into a story learning and growing, all while letting the past teach lessons that needed to be learned.
EXVCT – Desire
‘Desire’ is a fire EDM track with really good energy. It keeps its pace turned up to 11 through much of the track, though its ebbs and flows are there to keep listeners invested. Though this track keeps a rush forward, it does well at fading before its drops so that they hit even harder. The glitchy synths have a powerful aggression to them, and the percussion blends seamlessly with the bass for an addictive rhythmic experience. There’s also an ethereal vocalization that repeats the title, which dashes in just enough atmosphere to have even more of a quality of drawing those who listen into its vibe.
