Celebrating 2 Tracks From March 6 That You Don’t Want to Miss

This year has already been stellar in the world of musical releases. Last week, two amazing artists dropped some strong releases. These are ‘Sunsetting’ by Glass Mansions and ‘Touch Me Like That’ by Donna Dafi. Check em’ out!

Glass Mansions – Sunsetting

‘Sunsetting’ stands out as a track that blends ethereal indie references in its synths with a grungier, more rock-based sound with the drums, electric guitar, and vocals. The vocals in this track take the stage with a buzzy filter and a rhythmic drive that isn’t too strong. It finds a great balance between rhythm and melody. The shift between softer sections and stronger sections gives an excitement that resonates. Then, the bridge building slowly from a soft sound to a stronger punch is awe-inspiring. Lyrically, it’s an exploration of what wants before they die. It’s about having the last word on one’s own passion and a focus on art rather than fame. There’s a bit of hope with the lyric, “Maybe all the suffering is worth it in the end / ’Cause I’m still hoping that I’ll be something.”

Donna Dafi – Touch Me Like That

‘Touch Me Like That’ is a rhythmically exciting pop/R&B track that is nothing short of sultry and hot. The vocals range from whispers to a smooth alto tone and to a soft sweetness. They build into an alluring dynamic that plays well with the overall flow of the track. Instrumentally, the clacky percussion carries a strong rhythm, the brighter synths work well with dynamically floating around the stereo, and the bassline carries the beat well while not being overpowering. At around 01:25, there’s a really pretty bridge that gives the instrumentation some focus with its ethereal beauty. In terms of lyrics, it’s about craving for physical affection from another, loving to be touched by said individual.
