Quickly asserting their authority throughout the post-punk genre, Swedish outfit Killing Kind has garnered critical acclaim from across the globe as they continue to seize every opportunity they create for themselves. Propelled by the success of their recently released album, Being Human, the group has earned the attention of countless fans as they delve into the intricacies of their work. Notable among their admirers, American dark dream pop duo Magic Wands’ inspiration by their work has proved a crowd favorite, as the two projects debut their latest collaboration, a remix and reimagining of Being Human’s fourth single, Humanity. Incorporating a danceable beat into the original work’s anthemic melodies, the new track is enjoying a place of its own in playlists far and wide as listeners take in this new remix.
A steady percussive introduction builds suspense for a few seconds to begin the piece before a heavily augmented and resonant voice bellows out the opening narration, “Humanity” shortly after and immediately the song takes flight as we feel the world of this music building around us in real time. Waves of dark textured embellishments drive the tonal direction of the tune as the surging ambitions of this track are put on full display in its entirety.
An incredible example of the juxtaposing creative proclivities of these two groups, the single showcases the specific ambition of this work and the rich texture they have made themselves known for. With momentum on their side and no signs of slowing down, fans can only wait with anticipation to see what could possibly be coming next from these artists’ minds and studio.
