April 24, 2026 – (Hollywood, CA). After weeks of teasing mystery vinyls, and dropping hints about his comeback, globally recognized hitmaker Lewis Capaldi has debuted his new song, “Stay Love,” a bonus single from his highly acclaimed 2025 EP, Survive.
Survive is Capaldi’s third extended play and was released on November 14, 2025, marking his triumphant return after a two-year health-related hiatus. The themes of loss, enduring, and healing are woven into the tracks of the collection. Some described the EP as confirmation that “Lewis Capaldi is very much back,” while others called it his “most raw and personal to date” as it addresses his ordeals with illness in the spotlight. A year later he added the bonus single, “Stay Love,” the perfect resolution to Survive.
The Scottish singer-songwriter first showcased the piano ballad at a surprise Penn Station pop-up on April 16, 2026, one day before its official release. Held at the Damselfly Flowers shop inside the station, the intimate performance took place only hours before his sold-out headline show at Madison Square Garden. During the surprise show, he debuted “Stay Love” with “How I’m Feeling Now.” This marked the first time fans heard the new track in its entirety. Before leaving, Capaldi handed out single-stem blooms to fans and passersby. The pop-up show gained a massive crowd with over 5,000 fans singing along.
“Stay Love,” is a raw, emotional piano ballad centered on the lyrical theme of pleading for love to last. Unlike his previous hits that were often grand and orchestral this new song maintains a haunting simplicity from start to finish. Co-written by Capaldi himself, the track’s rawness is a direct reflection of his personal craft. With this song, Capaldi delivers his most raw vocal performance to date, the fragile delivery that captures the breaking point. His signature raspy tone mirrors the desperation of every lyric. The chorus goes “Oh just stay, love, when everybody’s leaving / C’mon stay, love, to get me through the evening / You know I pray, love, that you’ll always be the one / And when the road gets rough, don’t give up on us, and this could stay love” invoking the feeling of desperately holding on.
Through the production of The Monsters & Strangerz and Michael Pollack, “Stay Love” serves as the definitive conclusion to Survive. Prior to this addition, the EP already featured the title track, “Survive,” which acted as the project’s emotional foundation and reached the top of the charts. This was followed by the introspective heart of the collection “Something In the Heavens,” the bittersweet feeling with “Almost,” and the gut-wrenching “The Day That I Die.” Now, with the addition of this bonus single, “Stay Love” effectively culminates the EP’s narrative arc.
Hours after his surprise pop-up, Capaldi officially introduced the three-minute track, “Stay Love,” to a massive audience at Madison Square Garden. Featuring a minimalist piano accompaniment and his signature vocal delivery, this official arena debut was met with overwhelming support. Although the song had been out for only a few hours, the crowd listened with all their heart before joining him in a powerful sing-along during the final chorus, filling the iconic arena with their voices.
With the bonus track “Stay Love,” Capaldi expands his discography and ushers to a new phase of his career, one that is defined as more personal and authentic to him.
