Cypress Key /// Magnolia Soul

Born and raised in one of the most historic sites of American southern music, the members of New Orleans new wave indie rock duo “Cypress Key” have spent a lifetime embracing the roots and ever-evolving nuances of their genre. Defined by personally sentimental lyricism that reflect the artists’ unique lived experiences and set to musicality that centers sensibilities with every verse, the project has made waves since premiering a short time ago, largely behind the herculean contributions of their frontman and producer, Mazz. As they assertively seize every opportunity they continue to create for themselves, the group celebrates the release of their Freshman album “Magnolia Soul.” In the short time since its debut, fans worldwide have already embraced this new work for its creative honesty, as well as commitment to raw creative vulnerability on every track.

An eclectic mix of upbeat and somber singles, the album showcases the heart of this project in spectacular fashion. Introduced by the collection’s leadoff single “The Way Home,” the record is quick to foster an energetic atmosphere through its many anthemic highlights. Robust in its narrative arc, lyrically motivated ballads including “Lauryn Ann” give the record its emotional anchor through their stripped down and largely acoustic core, while singles such as “She Got the Sarcasm” bridge the gap, displaying a tonal rhythm and blues inspired timbre that feel directly inspired by the musical history of their hometown roots.

With momentum on their side and no signs of slowing down, fans can only wait with anticipation to see what could possibly be coming next from Cypress Key’s studio.
