Mortal Prophets /// Ain’t No Fool

Determined to grow as a creative force with every studio release, New York psychedelic rock-pop outfit The Mortal Prophets has continued to leave an impression on their fans since debuting a short few years ago. Anchored behind the contributions of singer, songwriter, and producer, John Beckmann, they continue to redefine themselves with incredible determination with each of their recorded works. As they step deeper into the limelight with every debut, the band celebrates the release of their latest full length album, “Ain’t No Fool”, in what is quite possibly their most adventurous collection to date.

An eclectic exploration of the group’s deepest proclivities and the lengths they continue to go through in furtherance of their ambitions, the album as a whole displays an expression that sits between comfortably nostalgic and novelly avant garde. Setting the tone from the opening notes, the record’s opening track “I Am Your Lover” immediately gives us a taste for the creative palette of the work through its hypnotically melodic definition and tonal clarity. Anthemic highlights such as “I Think I Made You Up Inside My Head” and “Dancing In The Fading Light” pepper the collection with their infectious upbeat instrumentality that underscore the reverberant delivery of the vocals.

A narratively motivated album defined by robust and unvarnished commentary, the collection makes a powerful statement about the artists’ ability to show pensive reflection through their work. Having accomplished so much with this latest release, fans can only wait with anticipation to see what could be coming next from their minds and studio.
