DecmanP – escaping apathy
‘escaping apathy’ is an emo pop track with a low-fidelity melancholy vibe. One thing that stands out well is the vocals, they have that emo twang, but they stray from being too mumbly. They meet in the middle of being smooth and emotionally cutting. The instrumentation works with a bit of simplicity, based mainly on guitar and soft percussion with a slow-paced bass beat. More synths are introduced later on to make it more dreamy as the track moves along. On top of that, the vocal harmonies and layering round out the sound a lot! Overall, it explores being stuck in a place of apathy. The name of the track says a lot about the contents, as it’s about the journey of getting out of an apathetic state. This track is part of a brand new album by the same name!
Trav Torch – She’s Calling Me
‘She’s Calling Me’ has a gorgeous low-fidelity R&B style. The instrumentation has almost a starry sound with its brighter synths and string noises. If the music had a feeling, it would feel like the night sky. Its tempo is slow and sweet, and the vocals really take hold. The vocals are smooth, but they also hit a bit of a percussive flow. The riffs and vocal bends hit just right, and the layering in the vocals is beautiful. The lyrics are about love, both sensual, connective, and a little spicy. This is one of those love songs that is heart-melting in such a gooey and nice way.
