4 Emotional Tracks to Bring Into Your April

Feeling emotional this April? Here are four tracks to bring into the month with you, all with explorations on either heartbreak or mental health struggles!

Simón – ROSES

ROSES hits that note of emo rap and trap with greater melody and a captivating flow. What’s nice about this track is that it hits fire bars but isn’t a rush forward. The bass buzz plays well with the well-tempered trap drums to carry things along. The way this pacing is done allows its emotion to stand out well! Also, at 02:15, it picks up for a punchier flow, which is a great touch. Lyrically, it’s a catchy gut punch of heartbreak. “I’ll save my roses for another time,” the hook goes!

Hailey Rae – Silently

‘Silently’ keeps the emotion in things, but it more so pushes things into the form of a piano-ballad pop piece. The simple piano fills up the atmosphere beautifully, and the vocals reach a mix of breathiness and fullness. There is a rawness to the production of this track that allows the emotion to resound beautifully. This track delves into mental health topics. It asks listeners to keep on fighting forward instead of silently going through their issues.

Solarrio – So Many Questions

‘So Many Questions’ is a quirky but nostalgic synth-pop track that benefits from its stellar production and 80s influences. The bass-heavy beat pulls the track along infectiously, and the vocal melody builds onto this infectiousness well. Lyrically, this track catchily goes along a narrative of a relationship where one is overly distrusting to a toxic extent. This is another track that does great with its hooks and builds a super-catchy chorus.

Shakkalo – to me

‘to me’ hits the melancholic folk-pop nail on the head. The laid-back pacing of it builds into an introspective atmosphere with a guitar driven instrumentation and soft but emotionally charged vocals. Everything about the musicianship floats around in the atmosphere in a way that creates hair-raising somberness. Lyrically, this track is about finally letting feelings out through song after holding them in for a while. It also captures the tale of an ended relationship, the narrator expressing having been in a deep relationship and struggling to cope with being out of it.
