Hamilton Hound and James Mason have a very real message to share in their new track, ‘White Noise’!
‘White Noise’ immediately introduces listeners to a jazz-influenced groove with captivating rhythm in the percussion. After some vocal “oohs” and percussion, groovy synths and brass are introduced alongside a spoken-word influenced rap flow. The energy is infectious when it picks up, and the ebbs and flows in rhythm keep things interesting as the track moves forward. The vocals have pertinent intonation, the lyrics and vocals somehow taking the forefront over the hectic instrumentation
This track lyrically gets into a tale of partying and having fun with substances. But it captures the tale of how doing so may start with just having fun and finding escape before things turn around. It captures feelings of ups and downs, wasted money, shame, and hidden pain. Chemical addiction may sound fun when shown on the screen, but the story this track tells is one that’s very real. The narrative hits its nail on the head, and it’s one that deserves to be heard.
Hamilton Hound and James Mason are a rap duo who capture unique stories with unique sounds that blend genres. ‘White Noise’, as mentioned earlier, takes on a jazzy groove in its instrumentation while pulling in a spoken-word influence. Their discography is filled with a lot of rhythm, sounds old and new, and some R&B influences, among others. What they’ve released so far is worth a listen (or several).
