‘Stars’ by Makaio Huizar and Other Emotional Tracks

Makaio Huizar just released his new track, ‘Stars’, an exploration of struggling to reach one’s dreams due to mental health struggles. As his music captures a depth of emotion, here it is alongside three other emotional pieces, all crafted in different ways.

Makaio Huizar – Stars

‘Stars’, like much of Makaio Huizar’s work, is deeply melancholic. The soft atmosphere of the synth instrumentation meshes with reverberating vocals that deliver a slow and smooth pacing. This track sounds like it should be lo-fi with its pacing and instrumental, but the vocal production is crisp and clean. This allows every bit of pained emotion to shine through. Lyrically, it gets into feelings of being lost but wanting to reach one’s dreams. This hits an emotional note that finds a sense of loneliness and disconnect that gets in the way of one’s goals.

NEZZY Ft. Daemon – TRUST NOBODY

‘TRUST NOBODY’ picks up the pace from the last track with a dancey bass-driven instrumentation. The percussion hits with quick intricacies, and there are atmospheric synths. The chorus in this track has a rhythmic vocal pickup that hits in with a catchiness and strength. Additionally, the instrumental bits give that speedy EDM sound that makes one want to get on the dancefloor. Though there’s this energy in the track, the lyrics explore hurt and distrust for another. It mentions a former connection as a mistake and a need to stay away from that person.

Løuis Mørgan – Rain is home

‘Rain is home’ utilizes a crackly rain sound effect and soft percussion to provide a backing for a spoken word piece that’s loaded with emotion. The instrumentation overall is simple at first, but different experimental synth sounds are introduced as it moves forward. At just over a minute long, this track gives a lot to introspect on. It’s short and sweet, it’s a bit experimental, and it feels like a poem set to music. Lyrically, this track explores the mental health of someone who jumps between an abundance of thoughts and silence in the brain. It uses a lot of depictions of places and nature to tell its message, and it calls for a finding of peace, an acceptance of light, and a release of pain.

Jack Horton – String Around My Finger

This final track explores emotion, but it does so in a unique way from the rest, by telling a distinct story.‘String Around My Finger’ hits with acoustic beauty and vocals that reach the forefront with a brassy baritone sound. The instrumental in this track is full of life, giving the piano the forefront. This track definitely hits a folk basis at the forefront, but there’s also a bit of a classical sound to it. There are several string layers at times, and the guitar lines hit with beauty and intricacy. Lyrically, this track tells the narrative of a musician who’s on their way to Nashville, TN. That being said, there’s a girl at home that this person loves. She holds him back like a string around his finger.
