6 New Tracks to get a Headstart on Your Autumn Playlists

Summer is starting to give way to Autumn, which is a time of reflection for a lot of people. Aside from the last stand-out track in this list, this is a collection of tracks with introspective lyricism and clear narratives to explore. Check out these new releases, and don’t forget to stay to the end for an interesting electronic piece with great atmosphere.

Bella Masone – Slow Motion Ft. Zach Paradis

‘Slow Motion’ by Bella Masone delivers a heartfelt, atmospheric indie pop vibe with great rhythm and energetic percussion. The atmospheric opening of this track softly ushers in a bass drive that keeps things bouncing along, and the two different vocals trade back and forth between sections. Though this track is electronic, there’s something natural about the way the instrumentation builds. Lyrically, ‘Slow Motion’ is about being in love when one party needs to take things slow and the compromise that takes.

Evan Kreutz – maybe

‘maybe’ follows up with another sound that seems to come straight to the heart. This track features a guitar-driven instrumentation and folk influences in a sharply produced pop piece. The warm buzz of the guitar in this track plays along well with the baritone vocals, which are delivered with a raw sense of emotion. Additionally, vocal harmonies are introduced, which sound gorgeous alongside the main vocals. This track is about being caught in a relationship where nothing is set in stone, in which things are a “maybe.” It captures the feelings of disconnect that being in such a relationship can create.

Quinn Hedges – Through Your Eyes

‘Through Your Eyes’ is a gorgeous acoustic piece featuring an acoustic guitar-driven instrumentation that strums along with piano layers and other strings layered over top. It has a folk basis that works with vocal bends, which pull in a light country influence, and there’s a softness to it that allows an emotional narrative to shine through. Lyrically, it comes from the perspective of someone who struggles with seeing the good in themself. They contemplate the idea of taking on a perspective of themself from a loved one’s eyes to see the good within.

Ellie Evans – 21

‘21’ fits right in with the sounds of ‘Slow Motion’ and ‘maybe’. It’s a string-based indie pop piece with a whole lot of atmosphere. It starts with an acoustic guitar and snappy percussion. Then it continues to build as atmospheric harmonizations are introduced before things break off into a pulsating electric guitar with drums and a more energetic pacing to its sound. The vocals are really pretty and full, and they work well with how the lyrics introspect. Overall, it’s about what it’s like to be 21. It captures the messy feeling of going out and partying while also struggling with the idea of growing older. In general, it mixes a sense of adventure and struggle.

Maria-Ines – Post Trauma Philosophy

‘Post Trauma Philosophy’ plays with folksy acoustics and beautiful pop melody in the vocals. This track has soft instrumentation with moderately paced drums and a guitar that seems to bounce along smoothly. The vocals in this track are soft but produced in a way that makes them pop crisply, and there are call-and-response harmonies that work with the main vocals to create a gorgeous musical landscape. This track takes on another narrative of being in one’s 20s, getting over a former love, and going out and drinking. It overall seems to take on the idea of trying to rediscover a sense of life after going through a deep personal struggle due to a former lover.

Dr. GO – Trance X

‘Trance X’ follows along the lines of other Dr. GO singles with its cinematic sound and classical vocals edited in a futuristic way over a synthy backdrop. The thing about this track that stands out from his others is its energy. It offers a quick rush with percussion that seemingly continuously builds throughout, and several synth layers and sounds that build. But, it also knows when to pull back and take things slow so that the energetic moments truly stand out.
