Precocious sensation Maria Deirisarri has emerged from a brief recording hiatus and burst back onto the scene with her Blending instrumental precision with a unique avante garde style of composition, Turkish artist Mehmet Gencler has at long last emerged from the studio with his most impressive album to date, “istanbul kaos 2019.” An incredible example of the artist’s talents and proclivities, the instrumental powerhouse gives listeners a glimpse into the mind of the performer in a way that is uniquely their own. Anchored in a strong foundation of influence by way of the styles of blues and rock, each song tells a story not just through the notes they project, but the passion through which each one of them is played. Opening and highlighting the collection, the record’s titular track “istanbul kaos” proves to be a standout and defining single, not just in the album, but in the artist’s entire discography.
As the piece begins, we are introduced to the artist’s work with a heavy and deeply reverberant echo of bass-centric notes that create an ominous and pensive ambiance.
