Broadcasting to the world from their Manhattan home studio, New York-based alt-rock outfit All Violet has been making their presence well-known in their own community and beyond. Giving their fans all they could possibly ask for in the short time since beginning their project, the group has released a steady stream of music over the past year that has been garnering the attention of fans from all backgrounds. Their latest release proves to be their most ambitious undertaking to date, and their first full-length album, “Neon Seeping from the Pavement.” The nine-song record showcases the eclectic and new voice as well as their place in the music community.
Starting the album, the melodic opening single “Everything is Medication” introduces the collection. Beginning with city ambiance seemingly sampled from the streets of their hometown, the music quickly kicks off with a soft tempo rhythm that hits hard and sets fans up to agree with the song’s repeated line, “I love all of it.”
Showcasing the slower side of their music, the album’s mostly acoustic single “Kafka” gives fans a true sense of the artists’ narrative motivations as they discuss life philosophies through music. Beginning with the line “I read a lot of Kafka this year, don’t know what that says about me,” the single carries itself with a sense of lyrical pensiveness that highlights the writing proclivities of the act.
Anchoring the collection, the final piece, “Wander Off,” completes the album with a sense of sentimentality and compositional excellence that gives listeners a sense of fulfillment in the work. An acoustic track that eases emotions in so many ways, it caps the listening experience with a soft and peaceful end, featuring a robust mix of tonal commitment and embellished solos.
