Higher /// Fallin’ Astronauts

No matter where you turn nowadays, doubt and fear have an overwhelming influence. Instead of waiting for the metaphorical, other shoe to drop, we anticipate a cartoon anvil to plummet from out of the blue. If all the world is doom and gloom, a spark of optimism lives on borrowed time. However, on their new single, “Higher,” Austrian pop duo Fallin’ Astronauts exude the power of positive thinking, delving into a mantra of embracing the moment.

Within the core of “Higher,” there exists a subtle tribalistic streak of persistent percussion to guide its rhythm along. Mostly flowing in a swift and lively manner, this track also features a series of delicate, yet furious acoustics underneath it all. Altogether, “Higher” sweeps you up in its natural freneticism and rejuvenating energy.

One of the underlying messages of “Higher” is purposefully living free without imposing limits upon yourself. At the same time, it also acknowledges the prospect of failure. In that respect, “Higher” means it’s okay to fail, but so long as you remember to keep going afterwards. Altogether, “Higher” views setbacks as temporary with the assurance that the concept of “falling in reverse” is how you eventually arrive at a new beginning.

As far as “Higher” goes, positivity bounds from all angles. If the happy melodic energy doesn’t reach you, then its optimistic lyrical themes will. Even so, “Higher” believes in the mantra of this too shall pass. Altogether, Fallin’ Astronauts remind us that positivity is not an inherently toxic trait of life.
