Marzia Dorlando’s WISH I LIKED GIRLS and More New Releases to Celebrate

‘WISH I LIKED GIRLS’ by Marzia Dorlando just came out yesterday, October 8, 2025. To celebrate this brand new release, the round-up this week includes some new releases, all spanning from the first 8 days of October. These are all fresh, so they should be on everyone’s radar!

Marzia Dorlando – WISH I LIKED GIRLS

‘WISH I LIKED GIRLS’ is an electronic pop track with a bit of a hyperpop vibe, with an exciting pace and glitchy edits to the lyrics to add a bit of an EDM vibe to things. The way the bass leads the main body of the track is great, and the percussion plays along with it to give it an addictive bounce. Additionally, the vocals are really strong, and their editing is electronic but also lets a bit of humanness shine through. Lyrically, this track seems to get into a tale of toxicity and heartbreak. It’s about one wishing they liked girls because of how men had treated her in the past.

Jbryan – This Place

‘This Place’ takes the energy back a bit from the last inclusion in this round-up. It’s an indie rock track that utilizes some electronic sounds and highly produced vocals to dash in a bit of an 80s vibe as things move along. It’s exciting and not rushed, and this is done in a way that allows a lot of emotion to shine through. There’s a lot of focus on the crisply delivered vocals, and the almost cinematic flow allows the lyrical narrative to shine through well. And what is that narrative? It’s one of being trapped in a specific place in one’s life, or having been trapped in said place. It’s about surviving and moving to an unknown place of freedom after finally making a much-needed change in one’s life.

Junifer – Thoughts For The Night

‘Thoughts For The Night’ has an atmospheric intro that’s cut in with somber vocals and laid-back synths that give an aspect of deep thought. It does well at introducing more synth sounds as things move along, keeping an interesting pace by switching up the dynamics over time. There’s something anthemic about it, but it also utilizes a lo-fi sound to build into its captivating sound. The highs and lows flow well, and the vocals riff around and hold out notes in a strong baritone. Lyrically, it’s about belonging and connections with family. Though it has a bit of a somber sound, there’s also a warmth to it.

Will Wilchar – So Slow

‘So Slow’ follows along the lines of being atmospheric, but it is more of an indie pop song to vibe out to. There’s a nice warmth to it, and this warmth is benefited from the bright buzz of the vocals paired with the electric guitar. A dynamic mix is utilized to pull listeners into its captivating sound, and there are also SFX at points that sound like being on a beach. The vocals do well at bending and flowing in a way that really brings things to life. Lyrically, it tells a tale of love and emotion. It gets into the narrative of waking up next to another and finding a sense of belonging in that.
