“Outcast” is the new song by rapper and artist Vantreux. He is based out of Richmond, Virginia. He has four songs released on Spotify to date.
The production on the song is a chill background synthesizer, and popping drums on top of the beat. Vantreux’s delivery style is laid back, but the flow is impressive as well. His stream of consciousness is interesting, taking an analysis on his life and surroundings. “Injustice feels like a symptom, a plague that’s masked by the system, neighbors got fake altruism, they call some help socialism, and then they say they’re the victim” he raps.
“I just wanna live my damn life, but was only taught to get by, never taught how I’m supposed to thrive” he raps on the hook. He also repeats these lines at the very end of the track. His socially conscious lyrics on top of a catchy beat makes this song stand out. The songwriting is exceptional, and he makes it sound easy the way his flow is natural and stylish.
On the website for his record label, it explains more about their artistic process and vision for the future:
“Here at Vantreux Productions LLC, we take pride in the work that we do and in providing a safe space for artists to create what they want, without having to worry about meeting strict quotas or guidelines. We give guidance and aid to our artists when they need it, but give them the space to work uninhibited when they want. Instead of a traditional record label that has deadlines for releases set by teams at the label, Vantreux Productions LLC allows their artists to have freedom over their career and schedule. We deeply care about helping our artists create and share the art that they want to release.”
This approach to the music business is refreshing to see, and seems to be wielding results with the quality of “Outcast” as a track.
