Swedish artist, songwriter and producer Juliander makes his second unveiling during 2022 with his heart wrenching single ‘Who Am I Without You.’ Having worked within the music industry for quite some time, Juliander showcases his intimate, melodic charm on this brand-new single. A track all about questioning who we are without a significant other, ‘Who Am I Without You’ touches on this deep-rooted existential matter and how hard it can be to leave someone that you love.
Juliander broke into the music scene in 2017 with his first single ‘Same Moon,’ that followed him touring with Zara Larsson on her European tour as the opening act. Having gained so much momentum within the field, Juliander also was featured on Alan Walker’s ‘All Falls Down’ with Noah Cyrus. His success didn’t stop there as he continued to perform on some of the biggest stages at festivals such as Coachella, Summerburst and SunBurn.
Renowned for his passionate pieces that allow a large audience to connect with his lyrics, Juliander accomplishes this again through ‘Who Am I Without You.’ As the title states, throughout the piece Juliander challenges us to ponder who we are without a certain someone. The dreamy, freeing aura created through the musical production allows for such an easy listening experience, moving us to a comfortable position.
Juliander goes back and forth on whether it would be worth it to move on from this person or to stick it out and focus on building back the relationship. The confusing situation haunts him, but he honestly cannot picture himself in a world without this person. Who would he be, what would he do? How would he gain the courage to move on from someone who has had such a huge influence on his life?
Juliander thinks over the possible scenarios while singing, “Maybe we should try something different, maybe we should keep a distance, maybe we should try kissing other people, if we never try we never know, which way the heart wants to go…”
The electronic-pop vibe created on ‘Who Am I Without You’ exemplifies another reason as to why it is such a resounding, modern alternative track. The euphoric essence on the track produced from the interesting musical production and tempo changes elevate it out of this world.
