Solo /// Ivon Roberts

“Solo” is the latest summery anthem from Ivon Roberts, and it is a collaboration with new indie artist, A.M.K. It is a socially-distanced collaboration, and it was produced by JCKO.

“Solo” is a track about leaving all the toxicity and unwanted baggage in the past and going on a journey of self-love so you can be the best version of yourself. With lyrics like “And if I’d never let you go, i’d be that little girl you had under your spell, but she’s gone. Can’t you tell?”, you can feel the want to be the best ‘you’ after a toxic relationship. “So i don’t care if you try to kill me down, I’ll be just fine flying solo” is another lyric that stands out and showcases wanting to leave this unhealthy relationship. The song rings with confidence and anthemic lyrics that everyone would want to hear.

The production of this track is also superb. It has a very summery vibe to it and makes you want to strut down the street and scream the lyrics from the top of your lungs. The production is very euphoric and infectious, and it is the perfect backbone for the powerhouse vocals that are exhibited. The song concludes with “solo” resonating with the audience and it is a perfect way to end the song as it truly gives the feeling that everything will be fine when you are “solo”.

“Solo” is a perfect collaboration between Ivon Roberts and A.M.K. The vocals are outstanding, the production is infectious, and the lyrics are empowering. This track is excellent and a magnificent comeback from Ivon Roberts and an outstanding debut from A.M.K.
