“Good News Comes in Threes” is a labyrinth of distortion and noise, sweet ailing vocals and subdued, almost “Madchester” vibes running down the silky, visual-lyrics that slowly landslides into our ears. When we give a listen we become curious of the hypnotic storytelling, a trinity of allure-
It’s like treading a landscape of psychedelic rock, Michael Ransom’s voice is sultry, we are abandoning all precautions as we become immersed in “Good News Comes In Threes” and follow the pied piper into oblivion or follow the white rabbit through the rabbit-holes of the universe.
This is definitely a pensive track, one to mull over the universe with a few friends and an intimate person. We think of the guitar work of the Stone Roses (and their vocals), The charlatans, and New Order when trying to muster the idea of what sort of bandwidth Michael Ransom picks up.
“Sitting on my roof in the sun where I get my best drinking done/ …you could’ve get knocked down better enjoy the fall,” the meditations of these lyrics are a subtle glow, a weight one may endure and still we have the chance to enjoy the cataclysm. “I got the words on the tip of my tongue/ and everything’s all said and done …” there’s an aloof spirit in the words and an optimistic tinge to the howls that inspires one to go out and live a life worth dreaming about. The railing of the guitar and other instruments breathe their own life to the song-
The background vocals are like midnight and Michael Ransom’s voice is the darkness filling the void with a sonic fiber that could grant you everything you’ve ever asked for as long as you ask. “Don’t change at all/ hold on to those dreams we made…” the palpable taste of slow fusion which is the cohesion of space sounds hitting us at all angles like tangents we call our homes, the earth running away spiraling in a trance with dream-dusty guitars, gravely and seductive vocals- We are a garden of trinities in Michael Ransom’s “Good News Comes In Threes.”
