The release of Europe-based artist, Areo’s, single, “Bring It On”, took place on October 8th of 2021. Let’s not do this all alone and take a look at what this single had to offer.

Based in Hannover, Germany, Areo is not just your typical artist. Areo, whose real name is Alex, claimed that as of last year in November 2020, according to his Facebook page, he was a part of a project named Plastained and that their goal was to “produce furniture like stools made of plastic from Bantar Gebang, one of the worlds biggest landfills located in Indonesia.” According to bandcamp, Areo is able to translate “his playful vision of rhythm and harmonies into his records to uplift, move and surprise the ears of his audience.” Also in 2020, he had released a single with WWJWW called “Embody” (facebook.com/MadeByAreo/).

“Bring It On” represented Areo’s respected genre of electronic pop. He was also able to influence other music genres like indie pop, alternative pop, pop, and dance.

The melody was not the only noteworthy aspect of the track. Areo had a confident vocal tone as he puts real feeling into the lyrics. The lyrics are punchy and amusing with some clever phrases. Instrumentally, the track has a balanced and rhythmic accompaniment that complemented the vocal track perfectly. The electronic sound in the track was, in many ways, funky and wonderful, giving the audience something to dance to. The performance quality was high throughout, both vocally and instrumentally. Overall, the track was distinctive and original, and I think it has the potential to dance its way to the top one day.
