The release of The NGHBRS’ single, “Better Off”, was released on December 10th of 2021. Ryan Venezia, the man behind The NGHBRS, was able to perform the vocals. Let’s not be so alone as we take a glimpse into what this song had to offer.
Born and raised in New York City, The NGHBRS is not just your typical artist. Ryan is not only a singer, he is also a songwriter, a DJ, and a producer that is based out of Los Angeles, California, and has been releasing music since 2018. Back in September or October of 2021, he was able to release a single called “Call Me Up,” which Madelaine Williams from WEAREYMX described as a “mellow-meaning-yet-anthemic song” (weareymx.com).
“Better Off” represents The NGHBRS’ respected genre of electronic pop. He was also able to influence the indie pop, pop, and alternative pop genres for this release as well.
The melodies were not the only noteworthy aspect of the track. The NGHBRS has a warm vocal tone and is able to put real feelings into the lyrics. The lyrics are expressive and meaningful with some clever phrases. Instrumentally, the track has a full, balanced accompaniment that fits the vocal track quite nicely. The performance quality of “Better Off” was high throughout, both instrumentally and vocally. Overall, the track was easy to listen to as well as being tuneful and melodic, and I think it has strong potential to reach the top of the charts. Time definitely does flash before our eyes with this melodious release.
