Originally from the South of England, stylist is a 21-year-old acting school graduate. stylist decided to dabble in music amidst the beginning of the pandemic, experimenting with what he would develop as his own exceptional sound and perspective. In his first single ‘eyes closed,’ he shows off all his skills that he’s been building for the past two years since the pandemic began.
‘eyes closed’ speaks to the agonizing feelings that we sometimes endure from those that we used to love. Past lovers tend to leave their marks on our hearts, some more treacherous than others. While love can be full of bliss, it, too, can be excruciatingly painful, full of kiddish games that no one has the time for. Through ‘eyes closed,’ stylist is able to recognize the toxicity that his past relationship was full of, and asserts that this is nothing that hew wants to tolerate in the future.
The single showcases an assortment of deep lyrics paired with a sick, technical beat. Throughout ‘eyes closed,’ we’re introduced to a hi-tech bass rhythm that is broken up by a breakdown portion full of tunes that display everything we love about classic rock songs but showcasing new wave flare.
