The release of Elizabeth Luka’s track, “Why Won’t You”, took place on March 11, 2022. Elizabeth has taken the time to provide a track that is full of meaning, though it’s full of expression that she is able to share with the rest of the world.
“Why Won’t You” is a track that is able to provide emotion that goes along with all of the latest events that are happening in the world. With what is going on in our world currently, Elizabeth was not bound to stay away, dedicating the track to those in Ukraine.
Based in Europe, Elizabeth has been able to share her raw feelings in her tracks, writing how she is feeling down on paper. On the other hand, Elizabeth is not just your typical artist. The 17-year-old has been able to use her free time to support volunteer work to help refugees arriving in her home country from Ukraine. In turn, she’s never afraid to stand up for others, being able to show her loyalty in a lot of ways to those in desperate need of support.
The melodies were not the only noteworthy aspects of “Why Won’t You.” This track is well-shaped and tuneful. Elizabeth has a strong vocal tone and puts a lot of feelings into the lyrics. The lyrics are meaningful and deep with expressive phrases such as “you try to save me when I don’t ask for help” and “why won’t you see us?” Instrumentally, the song has a wonderful accompaniment that is full and balanced. There is great instrumentation from instruments such as the piano as well. The performance quality is high throughout, both vocally and instrumentally. Overall, this track is melodic and powerful, and I think it has the potential to reach those around the world who are in need of support.
