For the past thirty years, post-rock has given artists and bands the opportunity to explore textures over traditional rock tracks that have been able to provide structure. However, there are still musical talents out there who continue to bring on the influence behind post-rock and how it can still contribute to the present world, especially for artists like Keanu Ienco. His second track of 2022, “Indigo”, featuring Elise Boulanger is a track that can provide lyrical content as he continues to give post-rock a proper meaning.
The Native American/Canadian-based guitar player and composer delivers a super edgy piece with “Indigo.” Jim Blair, a professional music teacher and music producer that Keanu spends the last ten years studying with, notes, “Keanu’s active participation in Nanaimo’s music community has enabled him to experience more musical environments than many musicians of his age,” adding that “his calm and considerate personality has helped him meet and engage with a long list of industry professionals, many of whom are of legendary status.”
Ienco’s guitar-playing matches well with this respected genre. This could be heard throughout in a track that can easily fit in beautifully with a soundtrack from an up-and-coming video game if it were possible in which the track can describe a certain character’s personality trait.
Again, “Ingido” is the second track from Ienco in 2022 from his debut album, “Celestial Desire,” and comes right after his other track, “I Still Shine.” Those looking to find a genre that can be able to give more exploration should check out Keanu Ienco because what he has released could provide more than just an actual structure of how post-rock is continuing to rock the music world by storm.
