The One That Got Away /// Mina

London-based singer-songwriter, Mina, released her latest track called “The One That Got Away” on January 6th. This wonderful tune followed the footsteps of her previous single titled “Don’t Hold On (Radio Edit).”

“The One That Got Away” was able to have a smooth introduction with an accompaniment that is balanced and atmospheric. With impressive vocals from Mina herself, any instrument involved was able to set the tone as it creates a sound that is tuneful and well-shaped. As the track continues to progress, Mina is able to give her intended audience, new or current, a glimpse into what she has to offer while sharing her music with those who listen.

Written with Nathan Britton, a composer from the UK, it has been shared that “The One That Got Away” is about Mina’s “process of going through her first breakup.” It has also been shared that Mina wanted to “send a message of hope to others going through a similar experience, as breaking up with one’s first love can be an incredibly sad and trying time.”

If you’re looking for an artist that is willing to share a message with the world through their meaningful lyrics, then Mina is your go-to artist. “The One That Got Away” seems like a real promise as the track is able to bring relatable situations to those who have gone through a situation that may seem foggy in the beginning, though things take time as the healing process takes its course as the days, weeks, and months go by.
