‘california fever’ is an exciting indie pop-rock track with emo vocal influences filled with a guitar riff that carries the flow well, trap drums, and portions of hyper synth sounds. The sound falls along the lines of emo rap, but a lot of it is more harmonic. Overall it’s catchy, dynamic, and has amazing blasts of synthy energy. When it comes to the lyrics, it explores ideas of self-doubt, love, and getting away from personal problems. It’s catchy and gives a lot for listeners to relate to in terms of escapism.
Birmingham, England-based vocalist charlieCityy is known for creating music to make his audience feel their emotions. He has a unique and emotional discography, and since dropping ‘california fever’ has released the EP ‘fall’. Though he hasn’t performed yet, he’s looking to take up some gigs in Liverpool soon. His current music pulls at the emotions, so that resonance is sure to continue through later releases.
