Mudville (Well, Well, Well, Well) – Ho Jo Fro

It won’t be a sad sad day if you take the time to listen to Ho Jo Fro’s latest single ‘Mudville (Well, Well, Well, Well)’!

‘Mudville (Well, Well, Well, Well)’ at its core has an optimistic feeling indie pop-rock sound that blends elements old and new. It also uses diverse instrumentation to add to its unique sound. For example, it starts with a trumpet solo, and the trumpet cuts out for a bit then back in later on. The drums bring energy and life into the piece, and there’s a snare solo that bumps things up even more. Lyrically, this track follows two characters who are meeting again. They reconnect over a past relationship between the two going sour and how hard it was on both parties. Overall, this single was written as an homage to love, heartbreak, and healed wounds.

Paul R Johnson, the mind behind Ho Jo Fro, is a Charlottesville, Virginia-based alternative artist known for collaborating with other musicians on his projects. Johnson (lyricist/singer/pianist) crafted ‘Mudville (Well, Well, Well, Well)’ as a duet with Lyla Elise (singer), Tim Ryan (guitar/bass), Will Evans (trumpet), and Jim Ralston (drums/percussion). Aside from music making, Johnson is also part of the music adventure Podcast “Derringer Discoveries.” Ho Jo Fro to its core is proof that there is so much that collaboration can add to art, so let’s see where the project goes and who hops in from here!
