‘Met Me First’ reels listeners in with its spoken word intro, which introduces its lyrical story well. Then it cuts into an instrumentation with a jazzy bounce built with the bass and guitar. Overall, the instrumentation in this single has a soft pacing with a lot of soul dashed in. The pop basis works well with some jazzy R&B influences, and the vocals have a sweetness dashed with soul-filled power. The production style lets the music bounce in and out at times in a captivating way. On top of that, the chorus is super catchy. The lyrics seem to capture being in a relationship with someone who’s toxic and knowing when to pull out of it. It seems to be poking back at a lover who’s unwilling to share that they’re in a relationship while also showing unhealthy traits. “I know when to blow shit up,” the chorus states.

‘Escape,’ like much of the rest of the tracks, has a slower-paced sound with emotional resonance. The instrumentation is guitar-driven with some organ-like synths and a soft percussive drive. The vocals get a great chance to stand out in the sound. They’re so smooth, and there’s a lot of beauty held in their temperament. That being said, the instrumental parts are beautiful in their own right. This track captures the emotion it takes to move forward in life. It expresses feelings and experiences in the past and explores self re-discovery after leaving the past behind to find the correct path.
