Henry Charles – Plastic Stars
‘Plastic Stars’ has a beautiful ballad-like song with a well-held tempo, simple percussion, and piano basis. As the track moves along, some synths are added which give atmosphere and build a hybrid sound of electric and acoustic. One thing that’s well done is how the sound rounds out as new elements are added throughout. The lyrics make this track out to be a love song, but not the regular kind. It’s about familial love and the care to be had and shared with family.
Stefan Certic – Intermezzo
‘Intermezzo’ builds on a synth resonance and guitar riff that works well as a hook. It definitely works with a rock basis when it comes to genre, however, the melody is catchy and easy to sing along to. The tempo doesn’t rush itself, and it uses this to an emotional advantage. The lyrics dig into the concept of moving forward from a relationship with a lot of hurt in the mix and trying to find healing as time moves forward.

They delve into finding self-belief and seeing the beauty of one’s own mind.
MC Paul Barman – Blessings
‘Blessings’ has a bit of a funky hip-hop style with vocals that bridge the gap between rap and spoken word. Something of intrigue in this track is the instrumentation, as it blends more nostalgic hip-hop sounds with more modernized trap drums. The lyrics come from the voice of an adult talking to and teaching a child about the world, and they touch on the importance of love, kindness, learning, and seeing blessings despite the bad parts of the world.
Alternate Day – We Both Know
‘We Both Know’ is a rock-based track with a dark and brooding sound and ominous undertones in its instrumentation. The shaker percussion pulls things along where the bass takes the stage, and there are crackly sounds that move around in the mix. The vocals take a baritone sound and do well with bends and riffs, and everything is dynamic overall. The lyrics have a poetic tone to them, with a catchy chorus, and they touch on experiencing misery and finding forgiveness.
Lionel Scott – Hide Away
The guitar riff that ushers in “Hide Away” builds a sense of immediate intrigue and energy. This riff carries the track along well, and the bass and trap-influenced drums round out the tones well and keep things dynamic. Also, the vocals work well with rap-influenced verses and a more melodic chorus. Overall, it works with a hyperpop basis and some rock and trap influences, and this blend is well-implemented. The lyrics explore ideas of distrust, missed opportunities, and the want for a better life.
