3 Singles to Bring Variety to Your April

These three tracks bring you sounds from experimental EDM, folk, and dance, all with a distinct originality to them. They’re here to bring variety to the start of your April playlists.

doux george – puppies

‘Puppies’ ushers listeners in with ominous noises between each ear that turn into a droning vocal synth that floats around the ears. Then, a slow vocal cuts in, and after this, a slappy bass and some higher pitched synth cuts in me. The music slowly rises and adds more elements as it goes on until it breaks into an almost overwhelming sound, albeit one that seems like it should feel this way. Lyrically, the voice relates themself to being like a puppy, trapped in a small cage by the beauty of another.

Hallelujah The Hills – Fake Flowers at Sunset

‘Fake Flowers at Sunset’ works with a catchy guitar riff and a sweet laid-back tempo with more instrumental aspects that slowly build around it in the intro. The vocals are a sweet and slow baritone with a rawness to their production. It gives a string ballad-like atmosphere with a full-band sound. Lyrically, this track uses natural concepts to describe the intensity of love and emotion.

Adrian Jean – Vapo Vapo

‘Vapo Vapo’ is a Brazilian-inspired punk track with a funk to it. The vocals have great sonics to the way they’re produced, the percussion and bass build a great bounce, and the main synths have a starriness to them. Its beat has a captivating drive that gives great danceability, and the vocals hit captivating energy. Lyrically, it captures a story of partying with someone and wanting to take them home for the night!
