Tristan Roberson /// End It With Whiskey

Based in the heart of the Lone Star State, Frisco-based artist Tristan Roberson has burst onto the country music scene with great determination to start his career, releasing a steady stream of music this year that has put their name on the map. At just 17 years old, their deep and resonant baritone voice proves to be the perfect vehicle to deliver their unique message of embracing a world they feel so hopeful about. Their newest release, “End It With Whiskey,” only bolsters their already impressive repertoire as it gives a glimpse into Roberson’s sentimental style of musical construction in both musicality and lyric writing.

The piece begins with a brief but flowing electric guitar playing in a homespun cadence that introduces the rest of the band, setting the tone for the contemporary western swing. Roberson’s vocals quickly appear after to begin the narrative with the opening line “She’s sitting there with her blue jenes on. She looks at me with a smile on her face.” We immediately fall into the world of the music the artist builds and invest ourselves in the story they tell.

Melodically soothing yet stimulating in its storytelling, the single puts listeners in a relaxed yet youthfully optimistic headspace and it is easy to see how this artist has captured the attention of the South so quickly in their precocious career. Having accomplished so much and showing no signs of slowing down, fans can only wait with anticipation to see what could possibly be coming down the pipeline from this musician’s imagination.
