R&B, indie pop, electronic, and classic hip-hop come together in this round-up to show the diversity that good music has had these last couple of months. November has started, and these are some tracks you don’t want to miss when thinking about building your upcoming playlists.
Maithili Raelle – Used To Love
‘Used To Love’ has nice smooth R&B vibes with addictive pop hooks in its chorus to attract its audience. There are some addictive electronic sounds in the instrumentation, and that pairs well with the trap drums and vocals that find a great mesh of rhythmic and melodic. Its chorus has an addictive quality to it that begs to be sung along to, and the verses cut in with some extra dynamics to give a lot of replayability. The lyrics in this track are about being in a relationship that feels reminiscent of a prior one. This kind of love seems to be one that goes a bit cold and quiet, pulling in attention, then building distance.
New Nobility – Love is Paradise
‘Love is Paradise’ captures that indie pop-rock flow with a bit of punchiness in its bass and smooth vocal melody. Production-wise, it really pops. Each part of the instrumentation finds a way to truly jump out, and the vocals find a way to take the spotlight in the softer and stronger moments. Speaking of, this track does well at pulling back for the verses while delivering a high-octane chorus. Also, there’s a bridge that further displays musical prowess on all ends. The bounce in this release begs listeners to move along. Lyrically, it’s about a love for another that has a very strong allure, which begs deep connection and passion. Though it’s about love being paradise, it also seems to touch on the dangers of the possibility of being played with through a love so strong.
Akihisa Yorozu – Transplex-Evo-Omicron
‘Transplex-Evo-Omicron’ is yet another display of the addictive quality that Akihisa Yorozu’s original genre, transplex. We’ve already covered Transplex-Evo-Alpha in a prior round-up, and this release is an amazing follow-up. ‘Transplex-Evo-Omicron’ features that rush of sound with an amazingly dynamic flow up and down. Every corner is something new and exciting, though the way synth sounds are used keeps it cohesive. This is another track by Yorozu that’s nothing short of lifelike!
Errol Eats Everything – Beyond Yonder [Furious Evans Remix] (feat. Blu)
‘Beyond Yonder’ is a phenomenal hip-hop track that harkens back to the 90s with its snappy flow and conscious lyrics. The instrumentation has a lot of atmosphere in it with a well-held beat that’s perfect for carrying that atmosphere while giving the vocals the spotlight. The more held-back instrumental rhythm truly allows the vocals to shine. Anyone who grew up on hip-hop will adore this track’s vibe. Lyrically, it seems to be about finding oneself and staying strong through negativity and adversity to achieve one’s dreams. It shows strength and self-empowerment in the latter half of the track, showing what it’s like on the other side of struggle.
