Odd Little Thrills /// Happy Together

Broadcasting to the world from their home and studio in Prague, dreampop duo Kaan and Mindolé, known as Odd Little Thrills, have been astounding fans around the globe as they make their presence known within their community and beyond. Emerging onto the scene with a grand introduction, their Freshman EP, There Was, There Wasn’t, serves as a bold declaration of their talents, and has already earned widespread acclaim as it continues to resonate with listeners far and wide. Anchoring the collection, the EP’s closing single, Happy Together, proves itself as a marquee standout within the record, highlighting the group’s proclivities for creating grounded and well-orchestrated compositions that have a larger than life tone in their production.

An assortment of electronic accouterments pepper the introductory stanzas as the tune progresses, and immediately from the introductory notes, we feel the world of this music build around us in real time. Ominous, yet inviting, we feel ourselves sinking deeper into the music with every note as the track gains momentum. Shortly after, a soft, almost angelic voice begins the narrative, and the track rounds out with the recitation of the opening line “A night without arms, an afternoon without legs. No one else to fill the cup, so you let her.”

Bold in its ambition, yet subtle in the ways it needs to be, the single introduces the group in a profound manner. Having showcased so much of themselves with this first release, fans can only wait with anticipation to see what could possibly be coming from these young artists’ minds and studios next.
