Tune into gay power with Anthony Quaid’s latest single ‘Do I Scare You?’!
‘Do I Scare You?’ is a gay confidence anthem with a party pop musical vibe. Musically, the energy is there! It has the party vibes as just mentioned, but it’s a bit toned back in the chorus which allows focus on the vocals and lyrics. Speaking of, the vocals are both strong and controlled in the chorus. But then the verses have a punchy percussive drive. Overall, it’s very lifelike. Also, the lyrics tell a message of confidence. This track tackles homophobia in a powerful way. Essentially, it says “Are you afraid of me? That sucks, because I’m always going to be me and you can suck it up.”
Growing up as a gay individual in the American South, Los Angeles-based musician Anthony Quaid writes uplifting anthems for those like him. He got his start in music by learning piano by ear at 6 years old. Then he was a trumpet player and classical vocalist before evolving into his current pop style. Quaid uses these influences in his music to continue to build awareness of the LGBTQIA+ community and push toward acceptance and love. What he’s doing is so important, so make sure to keep an eye on the stories he has to tell moving forward.
