Fritz Kahn and The Miracles – Love Knows
‘Love Knows’ came out today, May 13, 2025. It’s a somber folk track with a calming tempo and a raw sound in its acoustics and vocals. The music together seems as if it’s made to pull listeners into a place of peace. The mesh of piano and guitar builds into a sound that pulls some classical influence, and the percussion gives a bass tone to fill the sound range. The vocals work with a bit of a rasp, but they transition notes smoothly. The lyrics introspect on the feeling of not feeling free and the fact that love can give a sense of stability.
Manic Year – Too Much Truth
‘Too Much Truth’ gives an EDM rush in its sound with vocals that mesh a hard rap flow with a bit of an emo whine. There’s a groove in the instrumentation, and it stands out as rhythmically unique. Then, the vocals sift through different filtering for a dynamic experience. This track is punchy, and there’s an emotional punch behind it. The lyricism reflects through nostalgic references, but it also tells the story of growing up and going through life’s struggles.
JWADI – PAY TO PLAY
‘Pay To Play’ uses an acoustic guitar and electronically filtered vocals to build into a sound that reminisces on the electronic pop of the early 2000s. As the track builds, it adds synths with a bit of a groove and a cello before an energetic pick-up that brings more of the electronic tone to things. The vocals mesh rhythm and melody well, and in general, it uses catchy and fun music to deliver emotional lyricism. Going along with the title, the lyricism seems to depict the focus on money in the modern industry, and how it seems that it takes said money to get anywhere.
Alas de Liona – 19.3
‘19.3’ is a sweet and somber synthy indie pop piece with a calming tempo and an initial. soft production style used to build sweetly into its narrative. This is one of those tracks that, in its simplicity, pulls listeners into its atmosphere. That being said, around 01:04, a sharper production cuts through. It feels like a soft introspection that then hits the forefront of the mind. The lyrics get into love and the difficulty that can come from being with someone who doesn’t show themself the care they deserve. And this goes vice versa. It seems to tell a narrative of two lovers going through their own struggles while attempting to take care of one another.
Senior Dunce – City Centre
‘City Centre’ is an energetic electronic party track with an infectious bass bounce and synths that put so much energy into the air. The vocals in this track are cleanly produced, and they take the forefront at times and at others are edited to be a part of the instrumentation. The flow of this track flows and weaves up and down well, which makes it sound adventurous. The lyrics are built around a confident tale about being the, or being at, the centre of the city or the world. It seems to be about finding a home, being in the life of the party.
Bow And Arrow – Triad
‘Bow And Arrow’ is another electronic banger, this track putting a lot of focus on a buzzy bass that builds for strong moments and pulls back for contrasting soft moments. It’s electronic, it’s a bit indie, it’s exciting, and it’s somber. This track is full of life, and each corner brings something new to the overall piece. The vocals take a great highlight, as at times they have a distinct softness, but they also belt strongly at other times. The lyrics show a pull and allure to another, but the main voice of the track has their hesitations. Though they’re unsure, there’s a great sense of yearning.
