Omaha, Nebraska-based three-piece rock outfit, The Party After, have been playing together for a decade and a half, but have truly enjoyed an incredible takeoff in the scale their music has been appreciated on over the past few years. On the heels of delivering a plethora of musical releases, they have consistently given fans all they could ask for as they define their creative mission through their work. As they continue to reach new heights with every opportunity they seize, they celebrate the release of their debut commercially released album, Dopamine Machine. The lead single from this collection, Blast Off, has resonated with their audience, serving as a marquee example of the band’s musical proclivities, as well as the commitment they have to their craft and fans.
The track kicks off with rapturous enthusiasm as a stylistically punk guitar progression plays, and we quickly get a taste for the energy to come. A muffled voice then counts the musicians off and the track explodes with a rhythmic and assertive melody, asserting the mood of the music unambiguously. The vocals quickly appear, and the narrative takes shape as a grumbled, yet resonant, voice screams the opening line “I’m floating away. I’m lost out in space. And I’m never coming down, not after all I’ve found.”
An enthralling representation of the high energy these artists bring to every recording and live show, the anthem finds a way to insert adrenaline into the listener’s headphones with every playthrough. Never taking a moment to catch their breath, the musicians have made a bold declaration in the direction of their work with this latest release.
