Anchored in a unique style of music that is personified through innovative production and a mysterious approach to their work, European electronic artist Renwartherger has meticulously approached not only the music they create, but the movement they hope to foster through it. On the heels of a breakthrough year for their work, the producer ends 2025 with one final musical release as they celebrate the debut of their latest album, a seven-track LP titled Moving. Headlining the collection, the standout single, “Simplicity, shines through as a marquee example of the artist’s creative proclivities as a musician and an embodiment of the feelings they cultivate through their work as a whole.
As the piece begins, we feel the music hit our speakers like a wave as the world of the song builds around us in real time. The vocal contributions of Jillian Raye are prominently featured as an integral component of the track, as her words echo from the opening bars, the soft and reverberant repetition of “Ba da dadada” adding a layer of mystery to the track.
Narratively tied in by a brief monologue in Raye’s voice, she embodies the spirit of the track in a few words as she speaks confidently during the recording, stating “I think the simplicity is what drew me in as far as, like, the feeling and attention. That’s what’s going to make it so special.”
The experimental musicality of the track pays off exponentially, resolving as a coherent statement piece in the artist’s repertoire. Mesmerizing instrumentality and production values juxtapose hypnotic vocals, culminating in a unique underground sound that sits between comfortably nostalgic and intriguingly novel.
