Q: What inspired you to pursue this collab with ZOE?
NOAH A: Zoe & I are actually good friends. After hearing some of the work she had released I knew I had to get a song with her. I had “Wish You Well” set aside because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it, it felt empty. I knew it needed something else, so I showed it to Zoe for some feedback and she just started singing to it.
Q: Can you explain your artistic process during collaboration? Were you and
ZOE working remotely?
NOAH A: Yes, both Zoe & I were working remotely for this project. I met Zoe through Tik-Tok after one of my videos went viral-ish. After talking for a bit they showed me to a discord called “Holy Trinity” and our friendship continued to grow from there.
Q: Was there a certain point in your life when you realized that you wanted
to make music?
NOAH A: I was around 9 years old, and had just listened to Lecrae’s Gravity album. I got that weird feeling of bliss, like I had just floated off to another universe & had powers unlike no other. Music has always been a way for me to escape & travel away and once I realized what it could do for me I chased it.
Q: Who are some of your artistic influences?
NOAH A: Jeremy Zucker, ARIES, NF, and Brakence.
Q: “Wish You Well” is a beautifully haunting track. How did you go about
relaying messages of pain and heartbreak?
NOAH A: My moms called me a hopeless romantic, in this song I think I expanded on that quite a bit. In past relationships Ive had they’ve never worked out & wish you well is a song about one of those. I had held onto something I knew I could never get back & decided it was time to “wish them well” and move on with my life.
ZOE: For my part, I put myself into the mindset of what I would want to say to someone whose heart I broke. I know what it is like to be on the receiving end of a relationship that was no longer working. Thinking about what words would have brought me a little more peace in the most heartbreaking experience. equally, because i have ended situations in my past, I considered what i wish i had said to the people that I hurt.
