The tangled, atmospheric shoe gaze love sonnet “….The Stars Would Explode” is a cool, trippy dream-like song with the flavor of strawberry wine and nostalgic road trips. They could sound like Drugstore (Self-titled album), Slowdive, and Blonde Redhead (23) at their most profound.
The vocals are like a wispy, yearning defining the crux of hearts- That element behind the eyes that glimmers like a lucent star wobbling in between the passage of The Meskimo Feat. Howe’s whimsical lyrics as though tendrils of this mystifying music had its own body, its own language, and somehow could dream its own dreams are a pulsating carpet of mist.
“Traveled 30 hours straight/ just to see your face/ wearing the black turtleneck like armor/ pierced me with that knowing gaze,” brings in the breathless and utterances of things hard to say-
We listen in a state of mesmerization as the music is a pale moon watching the sea, pulling tiny strings in the heart. We find secret passageways in the nook of Meskimo Feat. Howe’s vertigo-dream pop, where it takes us into the unexplored regions of our anima.
In the depths of Meskimo Feat. Howe’s “….The Stars Would Explode” trance-like delivery we are inspired to meet ourselves again in the darkness and burnt orange light, sometimes meeting love is bewildering like that elusive dance in the rain with a memory- We might get caught up in the sweet nectar of a new crush… perhaps. Meskimo Feat. Howe’s “….The Stars Would Explode” allows us the music, the soundtrack to indulge in our uncertainties and just be-We would fall head over heels in love and nod off to the stars in our heads listening to Meskimo Feat. Howe (a nice thought). This new release is a thrilling codex of musical dream pop/ shoe-gaze.
