Maie is not just your typical artist. WEAREYMX claims that she is a virtual culture creator, entering her musical journey. “Like You” represents Maie’s respected genre of synth-pop. She has also been able to influence the genres of electronic pop, commercial pop, pop, avant-garde (electronic), and alternative pop. As for the music video, it was able to give off cinematic vibes as well, having Maie giving the audience a glimpse into her world, showing them what she can be able to make of it through her eyes and not anyone else’s.
The melody was not the only noteworthy aspect of the track. Maie has a rich vocal tone and puts real feeling into the lyrics. The lyrics are amusing and clever with some thought-provoking phrases. Instrumentally, the track has a powerful, atmospheric accompaniment that was able to fit the vocal track perfectly. Both vocally and instrumentally, the performance quality of “Like You” was high throughout. Overall, the track was catchy and distinctive, and I think it has strong potential to power its way to the top through another dimension in the eyes of another reality that was able to take place.
