The release of Celine Love’s “Like You Like That” was released on November 30th of 2021. Let’s not get concerned as we dive into this catchy, upbeat track.
Raised in Germany, though based in London, United Kingdom, Celine is not just your typical artist. Celine shares with Wordplay Magazine that this track is mainly “about the fear of losing myself in the idea of a perfect romance.” According to Celine’s “About” on Spotify, her inspiration comes from artists like Alessia Cara, Lianne La Havas, Ama Lou, and H.E.R. while being compared to them as well. Her milestones include being a Resident Artist at the Camden Roundhouse and playing various venues. She was able to open for artists like Jim James (My Morning Jacket) and Years & Years (spotify.com).
“Like You Like That” represents Celine’s respected genre of R&B. She influences other genres that this track had to offer since its release such as pop, alternative indie R&B, contemporary R&B, and contemporary pop.
The melody was not the only noteworthy aspect of the track. Celine has a warm and rich vocal tone and puts real feelings into the lyrics. The lyrics are meaningful and expressive with some deep phrases. Instrumentally, the track has a full, balanced accompaniment that fits the vocal track nicely. The performance quality, both vocally and instrumentally, was high throughout “Like You Like That.” Overall, the track was catchy and original, and I think it has the potential to creep its way to the top of the charts.
